Staff Writer

We're actively hiring editorial talent to help produce feature articles, studies, and how-to guides promoting financial literacy.

BadCredit.org is seeking writers who demonstrate meticulous attention to grammar, style, and voice to help educate and empower our online readers. Ideal candidates are interested in writing about various financial topics, particularly in the subprime space in which BadCredit.org specializes.

The Staff Writer job responsibilities include:

  • Researching and producing in-depth content, including feature articles, how-tos, and guides to be published on BadCredit.org
  • Participating in interviews and working alongside editors to ensure our content is of the highest quality available online for the topics we cover

Once onboarded, candidates should expect to produce a minimum of five quality submissions, including feature articles, how-to guides, research posts, and other web copy, per week. If you’re a talented wordsmith looking to pack your portfolio with highly engaging coverage of finance industry trends, topics, and thought leaders, this job is for you. The Staff Writer role is a full-time, salaried position with the promise of promotion to Senior Writer after two years of strong performance.

Senior Staff Writer

We’re seeking talented content producers to create unique, engaging articles for BadCredit.org and its sister brand(s).

BadCredit.org is looking for high-volume, quality content producers with experience and/or interest in covering the finance industry. Senior Staff Writers are expected to produce five to six high-quality content pieces per week. New hires will have the opportunity to advance to a Managing Editor position after two years in this full-time, salaried role.

Senior Staff Writer job responsibilities include:

  • Researching, outlining, and writing feature stories to be published on BadCredit.org
  • Planning and producing in-depth tutorial guides on credit ratings, loan applications and approval processes, and other financial-planning topics
  • Working with finance editors to produce, publish, and promote studies related to the subprime market

The ideal candidate would have experience leading interviews for feature stories — owning the editorial process from prospect to publication. Impeccable grammar and attention to style, voice, and semantics are required. Showing an interest in web-based content strategies and developing the skill set to speak effectively to a digital audience would be a key differentiator.

Managing Editor

We’re seeking professional editors to help copyedit, format, and perfect content published on BadCredit.org.

BadCredit.org is seeking a proficient copyeditor to manage the editing pipeline for in-house and/or freelance content contributors, making stronger writers in the process.

The Managing Editor role will require:

  • Swift, thorough editing skills that balance quality writing with speed of delivery
  • The ability to format articles in WordPress, previewing and modifying to ensure a perfect user experience
  • Experience hiring, training, and/or managing other writers or editors (strongly preferred)

Managing Editors may be assigned feature stories and/or guides to be published on BadCredit.org or a sister site. Applicants should expect to move 15 or more quality articles through the content pipeline on a weekly basis. Those who excel in this full-time, salaried role for two years are automatically eligible for a Senior Editor position (if available).

Brand Ambassador

We’re seeking driven marketing and communications professionals to help promote the BadCredit.org brand.

Calling all marketing and communications professionals: We’re seeking a Brand Ambassador to aid in ongoing outreach, feature writing, and marketing research needed to grow the BadCredit.org brand.

Brand Ambassador job responsibilities include:

  • Reaching out to various financial services companies and experts to coordinate interviews with the industry’s movers and shakers to present varying viewpoints on financial topics
  • Researching, outlining, writing/editing, and doing outreach to promote guides that serve the subprime credit market
  • Participating in interviews and working alongside editors to ensure that our content is of the highest quality available online for the topics we cover.

The ideal candidate would have a background in web marketing and/or communications with a special interest in the subprime finance market.
