And while it isn’t all sunshine and roses — Sky Blue does have a small handful of complaints lodged with the Better Business Bureau — all complaints were answered by the company itself, and refunds were issued to those who needed them in those cases. Reports of members not receiving value for their money seem to be few and far between.

What to Expect From Credit Repair

Getting started with Sky Blue Credit Repair will begin with the enrollment process, which includes obtaining your three credit reports. Once a Sky Blue expert receives your reports, they’ll begin a line-by-line review, taking note of any issues and finding any items that may be effectively disputed. Then, you’ll be presented with a list of dispute candidates, as well as applicable score optimization and credit rebuilding tips.

If you decide to move forward with your membership, Sky Blue will start the dispute process, sending out the first round of dispute letters within 30 days. Keep in mind that credit repair isn’t an overnight process. It takes time to draft and send disputes, as well as time for the credit bureaus and information furnishers to respond to each dispute.

Sky Blue advertises that it will dispute up to 15 items (five items per bureau) every 35 days. If a challenged item is not corrected, Sky Blue will automatically re-dispute the item with a customized response.

Of course, as much as the quality of who you hire matters, so, too, does knowing what you’re hiring them to do. If you hire a plumber, for example, don’t expect them to lay tile or put up drywall — that’s simply not their job. Credit repair companies can only successfully dispute items that have a reasonable cause for dispute (which is the same as if you were doing it yourself); frivolous disputes are often quickly rejected by the credit bureaus.

In other words, credit repair companies, including Sky Blue, can only effectively remove eligible items. This generally includes mistakes, erroneous accounts, fraudulent accounts, outdated information, and unsubstantiated items. Disputes for legitimate debts that can be supported by the creditors will be rejected by the credit bureaus, as is their legal right.
